El equipo más eficiente energéticamente

Así lo aseguró la Federación Internacional del Automóvil en su sitio oficial al dedicar un destacado espacio a la tarea de la Fórmula E Scholl Series.

Formula E’s all-new FE School Series got off to a successful start with the opening event during the Buenos Aires ePrix.
10 mini electric kit cars – featuring Michelin tyres and built and driven by 11-16 year olds from local schools – took to the full 2.407km circuit to kick start the new official support race to the main FIA Formula E Championship.

After a thrilling 20 minute race, ‘Técnica No 1 – Otto Krausse’ claimed victory and were awarded their trophy on the Formula E podium.

The most energy efficient team, EET 455 – Gral. Don José de San Martin, claimed pole position in qualifying, and then the race itself followed a standard race format.

Team captain from the winning school, Pablo Guarneri, 18, said following the race: “We feel very fortunate to have been able to build and drive such a beautiful car. We have thoroughly enjoyed racing today, and to be standing on the top step of the podium is an incredible experience.”

Formula E’s official School Series takes place in five of the cities during the 2014/2015 FIA Formula E Championship. In each location, ten teams made up of children from local schools will be provided with a kit to build their own mini electric race car, which will then compete in a special support race on the full-size Formula E track. It’s designed to help promote the subjects of sustainable engineering and technology amongst young people.
